Extra Meeting Night
Hi Everyone,
Just to remind you that the first of our new additional meeting nights is on Tuesday, 3rd of August. Usual venue, usual time. It is hoped that this extra night will be as well attended as our usual meetings and that the first Tuesday of each month will become a permanent feature (along with our continuing third Thursday meetings).
Hope to see you all there.

June Club Meeting Results
Hi Everyone,
The result of the competition at last Thursdays meeting was as follows:
1st place to Andy Canning with his 1/35 Centurion Shot Kal
Joint 2nd/3rd to Chris with his 1/700 scale Japanese Hospital ship and 1/150 Kreigsmarine S100 Schnell boot.
It was good to see so many people turn up at our new venue and I look forward to an equally good turnout next month. Remember also that the annual competition for the Battlefield Plate will take place in two months at the August meeting so get building, you've got plenty of time.

Scottish National Model Show
Hi Everyone,
It's the Scottish National Scale Model Show this weekend at Perth so I hope to see as many of you there as possible. We have four tables booked so please bring along your models for display. We are having a special "Soviet" display while the show itself is having a "Battle Of Britain" display, so all models for these, and any others of course, will be welcome. I'll be there both days so see you at the Dewars Centre.

Hi Everyone,
Just a couple of things. First let me thank Keith for letting us hold the last meeting in his house.
During this meeting myself, Ian and Alan visited a proposed new venue for the club. A report on this venue should be emailed to you all soon. Also remember that the Scottish Nationals are but a month away, 24th and 25th April, and that we have four tables booked, so get your models ready. The general theme of the show will be The Battle Of Britain, however we're putting on a display with a Soviet Union theme? Models suitable for these themes and other models of any theme/time/subject will all be welcome on the tables, so hope to see as many of you there as possible.
That's all for now,
Andy

The Search For A New Venue
Hi All,
After our final meeting in the Engineeers Club the search is on for a new venue. All the details of what we discussed on Thursday will be emailed to everyone as soon as I have finished editing Ians minutes (an "interesting" task)! While we have a few ideas "in the pot" so to speak, we are open to suggestions from anyone about possible new venues. The March meeting however will be held, thanks to Keith, in his house so please remember and bring along your own juice and nibbles etc. as it would hardly be fair to expect him to supply them. I will of course email everyone with Keiths address.
Regards,
Andy

Looking Good So Far
Hi Andy
This is great just what we need to be able to keep everyone in touch if they cant make the monthly meetings.
Also it should allow the model club to be advertised for any new modellers in our area.
Cheers

Hi Everyone,
I'd like to introduce, to those of you who don't know about them, a couple of sites run by members of our club. Firstly, Calum Melrose's Photopage. His site features pictures of his excellent small scale armour models and his other interest, full size buses. Also Keith McNeill's site which has some superb pics of his space/sci-fi models in realistic settings and backgrounds, great stuff.
I'd also like to remind everyone that tomorrow is club meeting night where we will have to discuss the problem of finding new premises, so if anyone has any ideas please put them forward.

Welcome to our new blog.
Hi everyone, welcome to the new Edinburgh IPMS and Lothian Modellers Club blog. We'll use this site to keep everyone up to date on club info and post any news about meetings and shows. This will be especially handy given that we will are currently looking for new premises to hold the club due to the imminent closure of the Royal Engineers Club. I'll be adding other posters to this blog so if you would like to be one just let me know.
So we now have this blog, lets use it,
Andy
